Q: Could you tell us a little about yourself and your role at Toive?
I’m Eeva, one of the founders of Toive. I work as an entrepreneur, and my responsibilities include leading our marketing, contributing to product design, and supporting our team. My role has evolved over the years, but the title “entrepreneur” still captures it best — no two days are the same. A typical day might include anything from sourcing display props for our store, planning marketing copy, or having a one-on-one with a team member. It’s wonderfully varied work.
Q: How did Toive get started?
We’ve always wanted to create clothing that makes everyday life easier. We started with classic T-shirts and hoodies, and gradually expanded our collection to include trousers, dresses, and other wardrobe essentials. From the beginning, we’ve focused on durable, beautiful pieces that bring joy to daily life — and that’s still the path we’re on.
Q: What defines Toive as a brand? Do you have an iconic item that represents you best?
I’d say our Arki T-shirt is our most iconic piece. It’s truly opaque, soft on the skin, yet crisp in appearance — a real staple. Our dresses and trousers are also very popular, especially since we often offer the same design in multiple lengths. This helps us serve a wider range of customers in the best possible way.
Q: What inspired Toive to join the world of resale and circularity?
We had received several requests from customers asking for a dedicated secondhand option. As a small company, building that ourselves wasn’t realistic — and just then, we discovered Ninyes. The timing was perfect, and the service model made sense. We wanted to offer a reliable and rewarding way for our customers to give their Toive items a second life. Q: What’s your favourite piece from the Toive collection?
As mentioned, I really love the Arki T-shirt. I’d also highlight our Wide Pleated Trousers — I own both widths and also like the shorter, slimmer version. And I must mention our knitwear too — it’s timeless and always a joy to wear.
